Product Overview

The MI-FLEX FastFix-Screw Adaptor to SW – Ø125mm is a bottom fixing used where a rigid single wall connecting flue needs to transition into a 125mm MI-FLEX flexible flue liner.

The adaptor is manufactured from 0.6mm 316 stainless steel and is designed to work with both MI-FLEX 316 and 904 liner systems. Its FastFix-Screw design provides a practical method of connecting the flexible liner to the adaptor as part of a complete chimney relining system.

Under Building Regulations Document J, flexible flue liner must be completely enclosed within an existing masonry chimney. The connection between the single wall flue and flexible liner should therefore be made within the confines of the masonry chimney, with no flexible liner left exposed.

Appropriate provision must also be made to securely connect the adaptor to both the rigid connecting flue below and flexible liner above, creating a suitable gas-tight joint.

Maintenance Information

The complete chimney installation should be designed to provide suitable access for inspection, sweeping and ongoing maintenance.

Cleaning and inspection should be carried out by a competent person at least once a year alongside appliance maintenance. Chimneys serving solid fuel appliances may require more frequent sweeping, including cleaning at the end of the heating season to remove accumulated deposits and inspection before the following heating season to check for deposits, blockages or nesting material.

When cleaning stainless steel chimney systems, chemical chimney cleaners and mild steel sweeping tools should not be used, as these may damage the stainless steel components.
